Request custom artwork to have your cherished memories or loved ones captured by the skillful hand of a professional watercolorist.

 

The process works as follows:

• You e-mail me high quality photos to work from (for local commissions, I prefer to set up an appointment for sketches and pictures)
• After reviewing the photos and discussing size, composition and style (impressionistic/realistic), the contract is signed
  
• The first 1/3 of the commission fee is disbursed to begin the commission
• I make a rough sketch of the portrait composition and email it for your approval
• I make a drawing and begin painting, while e-mailing progress pictures to you every week
• I complete the painting and e-mail you a scanned image for approval and adjustments
• I make final adjustments based on feedback and send a final image
• The remaining payment is disbursed and the painting is delivered!

I use professional quality watercolor paints and archival grade acid-free paper to ensure that your painting will last. Most commissions take 3-5 weeks to complete and come with a Certificate of Authenticity.

 

Commission Pricing:

(Please note that prices reflect a typical “impressionistic” portrait from the shoulders up with simple clothing and background.  “Realistic” portraits contain a greater level of detail and cost approximately 50% more.  Ask the artist for examples of each.)

16″ x 20″ -  $500

 

Three People:

9″ x 12″ –   $320
11″ x 14″ -  $380
12″ x 16″ -  $420
16″ x 20″ -  $670
18″ x 24″ -  $860

Each additional person beyond three will cost approximately 30% per person.

1/2, 3/4 and full body portraits, landscapes, pets and other commissions vary by price according to the size and detail of the image.
